Dr. Mauro Dragone
Assistant Professor - Heriot-Watt University
Dr. Mauro Dragone is Assistant Professor at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh Centre for Robotics. He received a BSc in Computer Science from Bologna University, in 1999, and a PhD from University College Dublin, in 2009. His research expertise includes cognitive robotics, human-robot interaction, multi-agent systems, software engineering and Internet of Things (IoT). He led the EU project RUBICON (Robotic UBIquitous Cognitive Network, FP7-ICT-2009.2.1-269914), a 2.5 million EUR project (completed in 2014) that has posed the foundations for self-adaptive ecologies of robotic and sensing devices. At Heriot-Watt University
Dr. Dragone is co-investigator in USMART (https://research.ncl.ac.uk/usm...), developing intelligent sensors and robot networks for monitoring of underwater environments. He also set up the Robotic Assisted Living Testbed, a home-like environment for the co-design of innovative solutions based on IoT and robotic technology for healthy ageing and assisted living applications.
